The NBC sketch series took a page from the headlines following the news that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about conversations he had with Russian contacts.
The cold open of "Saturday Night Live" focused on the latest developments in the Russian Federation investigation, as well as the sexual misconduct allegations against former "Today" anchor Matt Lauer.
Saturday Night Live opened with A Christmas Carol spoof where the ghosts of Donald Trump's past haunted the president played by Alec Baldwin. Moffat's Bush reminded Trump of the famous "Access Hollywood" tape and told him how he got fired just for listening the tape.
"Mr. President, I came to warn you, it's time to come clean for the good of the country", he said.
Super moon to be seen on Sunday night
A supermoon can appear up to 30 percent brighter and 14 percent bigger than when the moon is at its farthest distance from Earth. Sunday brings about our monthly appearance of a full moon, but this weekend it will be especially spectacular.
The sketch began in the White House during a Christmas celebration, but Trump is too unnerved by Michael Flynn's guilty plea to attend.
"You will be visited by three of them, here they are now", Flynn said.
Next up came visits from Billy Bush, Melania Trump, Vladimir Putin and, finally, the ghost of Hillary Rodham Clinton (McKinnon again), who thanked Trump for "giving me the greatest gift, sexual gratification in the form of your slow demise". If you worked at NBC right now you would be fired, fired, fired. "Frankly, I'm looking pretty good in the NBC news division", says Bush - a dig at Matt Lauer, the "Today" show host who was sacked this week amid allegations of sexual assault. "I hope so", the Bush character says.
After she leaves, Trump is visited by Putin (Beck Bennett), the ghost of his present.

Okinawa hosts around 50,000 USA nationals, including 30,000 military personnel and civilians employed at the bases. A spate of crimes committed by United States servicemen against local citizens has worsened the tension.
Then McKinnon's Hillary Clinton emerges, hidden under a black cloak before revealing herself.
"You have no idea how long I've wanted to say this", McKinnon as Clinton told Day as Flynn.
Then, the "ghost" of "Vladimir Putin" (Beck Bennett) appears, and finally, the flawless "ghost" comes to say "Lock him up!"
