According to The New York Times, House Oversight Committee ranking Democrat Elijah Cummings wrote to committee chair Trey Gowdy that "within minutes of Donald Trump being sworn in as President", Flynn was "communicating directly with his former business colleagues about their plan to work with Russian Federation to build nuclear reactors in the Middle East".
President Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn told a former business associate that sanctions against Russian Federation would be "ripped up" early in the new presidency, according to a whistle-blower's account made public on Wednesday.
These statements from Flynn to Alex Copson, managing partner of ACU Strategic Partners, reveal Flynn's attempt to "manipulate the course of global nuclear policy for the financial gain of his former business partners", Democratic representative Elijah Cummings wrote in a letter Wednesday.
On Inauguration Day, according to the letter, the whistleblower met with an individual who was working with Flynn to promote a project with Russia, Alex Copson, who told the whistleblower that Flynn would ensure the sanctions would be removed, paving the way for the project to continue.
Google Starts Blocking YouTube on Fire TV, Echo Show
But Amazon says that the company is being spiteful and was limiting what products were able to connect to Google's video service. Videos were displayed on its touchscreen without channel subscriptions, further video recommendations, and other features.
"I believe the American people want Congress to hold President Trump and his administration accountable", Cummings wrote, "and they are exhausted of Republicans in Congress putting their heads in the sand when faced with credible allegations of grave abuses".
After getting the texts, Copson said, "Mike has been putting everything in place for us", and, "This is going to make a lot of very wealthy people", Cummings said, quoting the witness.
Copson, who had previously employed Flynn to advise on the deal to build nuclear power plants with Russian Federation, told the whistleblower that it was the "best day of my life".
The company did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
East Contra Costa Fire Sends Strike Team to Los Angeles County
The fire burned up hillsides on the east side of the pass into expensive neighbourhoods that are now under evacuation orders. The wind and the fires are expected to continue whipping up at least until the end of the day on Thursday, said Umansky.
The whistleblower said Copson showed him his phone with Flynn's text message; it was sent at 12:11 p.m., about 10 minutes into Trump's inaugural speech. The investigators are searching for further evidence that Flynn lobbied from his government job as National Security Advisor for associates who had retained his consulting firm before the election.
Media captionAfter Flynn's guilty plea, what next for the Russian Federation investigation? Cummings said he believes Republican leaders of the Oversight Committee should approve a subpoena so they can "pursue these allegations against General Flynn in a responsible way".
Cummings did not identify the witness, whom he described as a whistleblower. "I have spoken to this whistleblower, and I find this person to be authentic, credible, and reliable", Cummings wrote.
The whistleblower was "extremely uncomfortable" with the situation, and made notes about it and Copson's name.

The Southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway are now open through the Sepulveda pass, but the Northbound lanes are closed. On Tuesday, two risky fires swept through southern California, forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate.
The office of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III was aware of the witness's account and asked Cummings not to release the information until the special counsel had taken "certain investigative steps", which are now complete, Cummings wrote. Flynn said on a federal filing that he served as an advisor to the company between April 2015 and June 2016.
