"While it is endowed with extraordinary performance, it has always been vitally important to me that the Valkyrie functions well as a true road vehicle, and that naturally comes with some constraints", said Newey, who now splits his time between the F1 team and other Red Bull projects. The front and rear wings are much larger, with the active aero system also revised, and there's now a central fin running along the spine like those fitted to prototype endurance racers. The road vehicle will set new benchmarks for performance, engineering and technology - a hypercar in the truest sense - and with the track-only Valkyrie AMR Pro those limits will be pushed further still. The AMR Pro version rides on smaller diameter wheels than the road vehicle (18 inches front and rear) to allow for the fitment of Michelin racing tires. The electric part of the hybrid system will remain unchanged, but Aston says that it has recalibrated the engine and made modifications to the emissions control systems (at least auto makers are being honest about it these days) to boost power and torque.
Developed with Red Bull Advanced Technologies and AP Racing, just 25 Valkyrie AMR Pro models will be made and all have already been sold - at a price thought to be above £3 million. That means the Valkyrie AMR Pro will put out more than the estimated 1,130 hp of its road-legal brethren. Lighter polycarbonate windows and carbon fiber are used all around the auto. These include polycarbonate windscreen (with heater elements) and side windows, a lighter construction of carbon fibre bodywork, new suspension uprights and carbon fibre wishbones, plus moulded race seats in place of the adjustable road vehicle items.
Red Bull expects it to reach a top speed of around 250 miles per hour and be able to pull 3.3 G of force in corners, and braking forces of up to 3.5 g. The AMR Pro also features F1 inspired race-spec carbon-carbon brakes as their performance characteristics are perfectly suited to the extremes of track use.
Profane Anti-Trump Sticker Stirs Up Texas Community
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office removed a Facebook post involving the F-Trump sticker photo that went viral. Though Fonseca has been confronted about the sticker, she says it's never caused too big of an issue.
The owners of the exclusive vehicle will receive an extra perk for the huge outlay - access to the same training facilities as Red Bull's F1 drivers, including simulator time, on-track tuition and fitness regimes. This includes time in the simulator and professional on-track tuition, plus programmes to improve their physical fitness.
This is the mighty Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro, and it wants to eat you alive. The vehicle itself will have its own dedicated track events for owners to show up and drive. Deliveries are expected in 2020.
