According to Bloomberg, China's vice minister of industry and information technology, Xin Guobin, has begun discussions with regulators on creating a timeline for when the sale of fossil fuel cars would be made illegal. The ministry will work out the timetable, Xin said.
"Those measures will certainly bring profound changes for our auto industry's development", he said, admitting that some manufacturers would have to pass through "turbulent times".
