After an enigmatic start to the season, the Bengals have announced that Ken Zampese is out as the team's offensive coordinator. He was the quarterbacks coach through the entirety of Palmer's career in Cincinnati and for all of Andy Dalton's time there, short of the past two seasons since he ascended in the hierarchy to offensive coordinator.
The team entered Thursday night's home game against the Houston Texans with a decent shot at winning, but for the second consecutive week, the Cincinnati offense was lifeless. This is also the first time Cincinnati has gone two straight games without finding the end zone since 2008, and those Bengals had the excuse of having Ryan Fitzpatrick starting in place of an injured Carson Palmer.
Under Zampese last season the Bengals finished 13th in total offense and 24th in points per game.

Green said, "We are playing like sh- right now". Green was blunt in his assessment of the Bengals' play following the game. "We are going to have to look at it and see what we can do differently".
