Don't be fooled by the name, it's not an electric auto.
The E-Pace completed its world record jump at ExCeL in London, one of only a handful of venues in the United Kingdom big enough to accommodate the 525-foot run-up and run-off, vital for the 50-foot leap.
The Jaguar E-Pace will be offered with the company's 2.0-litre Ingenium engine range. The Audi RS Q3 takes just 4.4 seconds to reach 62mph from standing. The all-wheel drive system is called Active Driveline and is said to be imbued with a "rear drive character". Jaguar has tuned the chassis, along with the four-wheel-drive control system and Adaptive Dynamics dampers, for a sporty on-road drive.
Buyers will be able to choose a version with a 300hp engine sending the vehicle through 60mph from rest in under six seconds, and will also be able to select sporty 21-inch wheels from the options list. Torque vectoring by braking also features.
Jaguar Land Rover confirmed plans for its first overseas manufacturing plant in 2012 when it signed a joint venture agreement with Chery Automobile Company Ltd in China.
Severe storms a threat later Friday but weekend should be nice
The weather outlook also says unsafe heat conditions are possible with maximum heat index values near 100 degrees. We'll begin with partly cloudy skies with thunderstorms developing during the afternoon.
Technology available to E-Pace drivers will include Configurable Dynamics technology, allowing the personalisation throttle, steering and transmission settings. Weight has been cut via the extensive use of aluminium componentry, both in the body and the suspension assemblies. Alloy wheels up to 21 inch in diameter are offered; the standard size wheel is 17-inch. This will reach 60mph in 9.5 seconds and has a top speed of 124mph. If you're more interested in saving fuel than slugging it, the D150 returns a combined 5.6L/100km. The rear too gets an apparent inspiration from the F-Pace, thanks to the similar design of the LED taillights, though the windscreen is a bit steeply raked on the E-Pace. You can split the 1280x542 pixel screen to show two different functions. A 4G WiFi hotspot for up to eight simultaneous device connections will also be offered, ensuring everyone is connected to the web while on the move.
Gesture tailgate opening, activity key wristband (where you can safely lock the main key inside the auto should you be unable to carry it, for example while surfing or swimming), and advanced head-up display are also options.
Crossover E-Pace is available in trim levels S, SE and HSE.

Jaguar is on a bit of a roll at the moment.
