In its most detailed briefing yet on the criminal investigation, the Metropolitan Police on Friday confirmed residents' suspicions that the inferno at Grenfell was touched off by a refrigerator fire.
The high-rise buildings on the Chalcots estate in Camden were being emptied on Friday evening after firefighters said they "could not guarantee our residents' safety", local council leader Georgia Gould said.
Eight hundred households are to be evacuated from a council estate in north London in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire to allow "urgent fire safety works" to take place.
Grenfell's exterior aluminium composite panel cladding is thought to have contributed to the rapid spread of fire through the apartment block - killing at least 79 people.
Gould says the fix work is expected to take two to three weeks.
Whole Foods Markets to be Acquired by Amazon
Whole Foods shares were trading just above that level on Friday, as investors saw negligible regulatory risk to the deal closing. So news that Amazon has bought USA supermarket chain Whole Foods for $13.4bn is interesting but perhaps not surprising.
She added that the "really really hard decision" had been made to evacuate the blocks while urgent fire safety work is completed.
They will be moved to temporary housing, which includes hotels and homes of friends and family.
"We want to identify all those who died as result of the fire at Grenfell Tower, and that is where I need the public's help", she added.
Camden council earlier identified a number of tower blocks on the Chalcot's estate that used similar cladding and has begun work to remove the panels.
Scotland Yard also revealed manslaughter charges are being considered by detectives investigating the blaze in the tower in west London, which had failed fire safety tests.
Trump Confirms He's Under Investigation
The Twitter attacks came as Vice-President Mike Pence hired a personal lawyer to represent him in the intensifying investigation. Comey described the meetings and his note-taking in detail last week while testifying before the Senate intelligence committee.
Investigators have listened to more than 600 emergency calls - and "some of those calls are over an hour long and each call tells its own distressing story", she said. "We did our best I promise".
"The NZ situation for building fire safety was different to the United Kingdom which relies heavily on passive-fire [measures] such as solid construction to limit rapid spread of fire and smoke".
One shirt bearing the London Ambulance Service logo said: "We refuse to forget you".
Some residents believe the official number of those dead or missing presumed dead is lower than the true figure, and McCormack acknowledged they might not know everyone who was in the building as some people might fear coming forward because they were in the country illegally. The call comes after London Mayor Sadiq Khan's pledge to seek an amnesty for people who may have been living in the tower illegally. Samples from 14 buildings in London, Manchester and Plymouth have already been found to be combustible.
"It's happening immediately. we could not be sure that people could be safe".
