The Senate intelligence committee has subpoenaed former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn for documents related to the panel's investigation into Russia's election meddling.
The subpoena also comes as Senate investigators have aggressively moved on their probe after months of groundwork, and just a few days after now-former FBI Director James Comey alerted the leaders of the intelligence panel the FBI was ramping up its own investigation.
"I think the most severe [option] would be a subpoena", he said.
Federal prosecutors with the FBI have also issued grand jury subpoenas to Flynn, according to a report from CNN.
